Salmon Fishing in Bodega Bay

Anglers are out trolling for salmon in Bodega Bay.  I counted thirty three fishing boats at 8:00 p.m. A fellow beach walking friend told me that he and his wife counted over seventy (70) fishing boats off Bodega Head on Sunday!

I'm not a fisherman (fisherwoman?) but the USAfishing website appears to be a reliable source for up to date fishing information from Alaska all the way down to Baja (two of my favorite places).

According to the USAfishing website: "The salmon bite is still hit and miss with some private boats whacking 3 or 4 quick limits and others struggling to find a fish per rod."

Our Bodega Bay mornings have been warm and calm with winds picking up in the early afternoon continuing into early evening then settling down by nightfall. Not much fog here in Bodega Bay and the moon is waxing Gibbous at 63% of full. We'll have a full moon on July 3rd. These windless mornings have my friend Tom out and about with his cameras . . .

Bodega Bay 4th of July fireworks display is this Sunday, July 1st, at 9:30 p.m. Thank you to all who made this event possible for another year! Check the Bodega Bay Chamber of Commerce website for more information on this and other events.

Make it a beautiful stay in Bodega Bay!

  1. Just stopping by to check out your blog and I find one of my favorite places featured. I spent much of my childhood in Sonoma and frequently visited Bodega Bay. Thanks for the sweet memories.

    1. I love that the blog brought back “sweet memories” for you Marie! In creating this blog I envisioned my readers to be people who have visited, who’ve not visited yet, who live close but never make the time to visit, and people who for whatever reason, are unable to visit but love the coast. My wish is that my images (and images of my friends) and my experiences of coastal living encourage people to visit the beach, to be activists on any level in protecting and enjoying the ocean, to bring back fond memories, and to spark a desire to visit and enjoy our beautiful Sonoma Coast.

Reading your blog, http://marieleslie.com/5-keys-to-entrepreneurial-success is motivating me to move forward in business. I appreciate how much you give.

Thank you so much for visiting and for your lovely comment.
